Rainy days, sun and taking water for granted
I’ve been complaining recently about the amount of rain we’ve been having. It’s done wonders for some of the plants but it did bring out the slugs and snails – who then proceeded to eat the plants that were doing so well! This weekend, in a sudden about turn, the sun is shining so I sat outside and admired the flowers in the garden. My Anemone hybrida ‘Richard Ahrens’ has taken seven years to establish for some reason. Who knows why!
I see there is a pink theme to this posting which is a little odd as I’m not generally a pink person. This is Oxalis triangularis which has lovely dark red foliage and is very neat and tidy.
By the way if you would like to go garden visiting without having to leaving the comffort of your chair try visiting VP’s garden on her Open Garden Day blog. You can take a virtual tour around her garden, see how it was created and have a ‘virtual’ cup of tea and a snack. This is all in aid of raising funds for Water Aid which VP will explain in the blog. Please go and take a look. It’s open till the 21st September but go now before you forget!
