I have those square pots too, didn't know they were called that, thanks! I use them for the little earth star bromeliads and seed starting but will try some alpines next year. And, despite the fact that we are used to somewhat more snow than that over the course of the winter (a major understatement after last year!), I think that the first snowfall is always somewhat magical/special to a lot of us (before we start muttering under our breaths at subsequent accumulations :) ).
