A touch of the frillies
My very last Poppy (Papaver somniferum) with the Paeony type flowers has just finished flowering. She is called ‘Ooh La La’ and is very bold and flouncy. I can see her dancing the Can-Can on a French stage, kicking her legs and flashing her petticoats for all to see.
She has a much more sedate sister who came from the same packet of seeds so I have given her a different name. Much more refined…. she would ever flash her underwear!
Thanks to Karen at An Artist’s Garden. I saw the poppy pictures on her blog and had to have some for myself.

The double white is also pretty, but not in the same category!
Thanks for the link love and I am glad you are enjoying your poppies – let me know if you want some black Paeony type poppy seeds for next year :)

I love the ‘bold and flouncy’ description. Sort of sticks in your mind…Maybe somebody ought to set it to music :-) Oklahoma-style.
I’m frightfully frivolously frilly myself. ;-) Errrrrrrr, did someone mention Oklahoma? What have I done? ;-)
wonderful visions of the can-can :D
I mistook these for peonies at first, frilly poppies indeed! Love the subdued white one.
