Blooming Friday: Three contrasting flower shapes

The shape of flowers never ceases to amaze me. There is such a variety.

Here are three flowering in my garden at the moment. The last two are in pots as they are not hardy.

The first is an explosion – like a firework going off.

Allium carinatum pulchellum

The second is cool and sedate.

Catharanthus roseus (Madagascar Periwinkle)

The third is flamboyant and luxurious.

Hibiscus rosa-sinensis

I love them all!

That was my thought exactly, that allium is very firework like. Looks like your garden is sill going strong. Beautiful!

The colours and shapes of different flowers are amazing – you have to admire Mother Nature!

I especially like the first one — it does indeed look like fireworks. Nature is amazing, isn’t it? :)

The shape of trumpet narcissus and German iris have always awed me in this way.
