Blooming Friday: October, week 2 – hello Autumn

Welcome to Blooming Friday. The weather here has turned much colder. Autumn has definitely arrived and here is the proof.

Some flowers are fading.

Coloured bark. I know I have shown pictures of this before but I can’t resist doing it again.

With all these signs of Autumn it is a surprise to see this little plant. He thinks it is Spring. He is in for a shock!

I guess it’s true, fall is upon us. I’ve never seen those fruits on acanthus blooms before. I wonder how hard they are to propagate from seed. It’s such a beautiful but bittersweet time in the garden. Love to look at it, but as you say, it’s time to start moving tender stuff in, which makes it impossible to stay in denial about the end of the season.

Lovely pictures, and I feel sorry for the little one who’s in for a shock. The primulas are often blooming in my winter garden – they survive:)

hi thanks for the pic of the rudbeckia. I bought one a week ago in beautiful sunshine ..planted it..and then the weather changed and so did the plant,i thought i’d killed it but it appears its autumn and thats why it starting to look sorry for itself….should of realised!!
