Welcome to Blooming Friday. I have three pictures that sum up my garden this week.

Foliage against a grey sky.

Ginko biloba

Daytime temperatures remain higher than usual for this time of year (around 15C/59F). Night time temperatures are still well above freezing (4C/39F). I am sure it will not last.

Thanks to Katarina at Roses and Stuff for hosting Blooming Friday.

After looking at the first two pictures, I was expecting the last to show ‘no blooms’. The blue is striking though, almost hurting the eyes after the gentler, more autumnal pictures.

About the temperature . . . We have had flocks of starlings wheeling around over here for the last couple of days. It strikes me as a little late for this . . . are yours still wheeling or have they gone? (Assuming you have starlings . . . assuming everyone in England has starlings!)

The autumn foliage is beautiful. So are the seed-heads. They do have that wild, untamed look. love the colour of the vinca!

It is unusually warm this year…strangely so…but you are right, it probably won’t last long…the wind and rain will soon see to that. Poor little last remaining flowers – how they cling on to life! xxx

Ginko biloba is such an interesting tree – one of the oldest, I believe. I saw something blue when I got back from work this afernoon – a Vinca minor. Unfortunately not the variegated kind.
Enjoy your weekend.

What lovely photos of your lingering blooms… I love the Ginkgo… the feathery clematis seeds and the sweet face of Vinca. Happy Weekend. Carol

The gingko is a striking colour. It’s been noticeably cooler in the north west this week and wet, wet, wet ! I think that we may see frost in the next week but am hoping not :)

Lovely leaves and seedheads. The gold of Gingko leaves is so striking.

The leaves of that Ginko are gorgeous this fall. I love the swirly seedheads of Clematis too, I’ve been leaving them on my vines for the past few years. ;)

Autumn has come to you also. Last night we had below zero for the first time. I live where we do not usually get as much snow or cold./Margareta
