Damp confusion and fashion
Still our mild weather continues. It is all very unsettling. How can I remember to buy waterproof boots if I am not reminded by winter weather? How can I buy a new winter coat if it is not cold?
The garden is similarly confused. We are both waiting for frost, ice and snow. We both have damp feet and are still wearing our summer colours in November.
Of course the garden has better taste than me. It is as comfortable in a silver grey outfit….
….as it is in cool pink….
….or a combination of green, pink and white.
I could never compete. I am much too conservative.

Oh how funny you are, EG! Of course we mere mortals can never compete with nature. We can only copy her ideas. What a fabulous geranium!

Easy, Those cues are very important…we need them. I’ve been looking for a fun jacket…Alstroemeria ‘Evening Song’ is the perfect color! gail
Pretty shades of pink in your garden right now. I’ve been wanting to add an Astromeria to my garden. Just found out this summer that their hardy here.
LOVE your words! And nice colours in your garden–the variegated leaves are so pretty!
Give me cold and sparkling any day but it has been cold enough here this last week for me to bring out the winter jacket. A splendid geranium – what colour are its flowers ?
I’m in love with that geranium! It’s a species I was unfamiliar with (another one of those naturally occurring hybrids), but the information I have suggests it would grow in my garden. So it’s gone on my list of “must have” geraniums. Thank you for introducing me to it.
Muldoon geranium as a printed fabric, or an applique by Valeri? I’d love to wear that!
I know what you mean about mild weather being unsettling in November. It is not the natural order of things. Let’s have some seasons, dang it! On with the waterproof boots already!
I know, we are having a similarly weird mild fall. It did freeze once this week, but still… I have a few poppies and calendulas still going, not much else from summer. If only we could pull off all the colors the plants do… we’d be in Vogue every week!
I picked black eyed Susans from my garden for my Thanksgiving flower arrangement…a first. I love the mild weather but would like to put my roses to bed for the winter.
