I picked black eyed Susans from my garden for my Thanksgiving flower arrangement...a first. I love the mild weather but would like to put my roses to bed for the winter.

I know, we are having a similarly weird mild fall. It did freeze once this week, but still... I have a few poppies and calendulas still going, not much else from summer. If only we could pull off all the colors the plants do... we'd be in Vogue every week!

I know what you mean about mild weather being unsettling in November. It is not the natural order of things. Let's have some seasons, dang it! On with the waterproof boots already!

I'm in love with that geranium! It's a species I was unfamiliar with (another one of those naturally occurring hybrids), but the information I have suggests it would grow in my garden. So it's gone on my list of "must have" geraniums. Thank you for introducing me to it.

Give me cold and sparkling any day but it has been cold enough here this last week for me to bring out the winter jacket. A splendid geranium - what colour are its flowers ?

Oh how funny you are, EG! Of course we mere mortals can never compete with nature. We can only copy her ideas. What a fabulous geranium!
