Full to the brim and getting ready for invaders

It has been raining on and off for days. Everything that can fill with water is full. This was the view yesterday at 12 noon. Depressing isn’t it. No wonder the cats spent all day asleep indoors.

Wet, wet, wet!

Wet, wet, wet!

With weather like thisĀ  it any wonder that I never get any ripe olives.

At least the raindrops look pretty. This Aeonium has grown too large to move undercover so it is being left outside to take its chances. I have got rooted cuttings for next year as I don’t really expect it to survive the winter. It has lost a number of its branches as the Squirrels keep running up them in an attempt to reach the bird feeders.

Yes, the Squirrels are back in the garden….let battle commence.

Similar weather here yesterday – it was attempting to sleet at times. Absolutely vile :( I’m investigating hibernation. Good luck with the squirrel battle !

Hi EG, it is quite lovely, if gloomy in your garden. In a moody Twilight sort of way. Oh those squirrels, it is a losing battle against their digging here. Too many walnuts for them to hide from themselves, having to dig one hundred holes to look for them again. Hibernation makes sense!

I love the rain, but I guess I could see how you might tire of it after awhile.

I hate squirrels.

Sometimes enough is enough~~with rain and bothersome squirrels. Right now I dislike squirrels and chipmunks! gail

I don’t see the problem here, now that you have mastered the killing of squirrels you have surely started to collect delicious squirrel recipes to get you through winter. Spicy squirrel stew? Squirrel and nut loaf? Unless hang on unless the original squirrel somehow escapsed death?!?
