Wind and a smile
It was very windy over the weekend while we were away visiting friends. Coming back I discovered that my three cloches in the drive were looking a bit worse for wear. I was going to put them over some Lettuce in the allotment but I had not got round to it. Serves me right I suppose. I’m a believer in the “never do now what you can do later” school of thought. I’m afraid this ideology does have its negative aspects.
They would not blown about so much if they had been anchored in the soil. The wind must have been strong because a neighbour’s fence blew down. To make matters worse my potted Camellia blew over and landed amongst the cloches.
I cheered myself up by taking a picture of this Pansy. You have got to love a flower that smiles even when the sun isn’t shining.

I want some cloches like yours. I’m sorry yours got blown about. That pansy smile is a great one!
Oh no :( I belong to the same school – there are pitfalls but pleasures too. The frames look reusable though. The pansy must have known that you needed cheering up.
Sometimes I fall into this never do it now, when I become very tired after my days work. Often times regret why I didn’t do it sooner.
I guess the pansy can only give hope that we all try a little better next time.
The wind has been rather fierce hasn’t it? That pansy sure is faring well through it all – lovely little photo! xxx
Thank you for the pansy – always love pansies. It is dreary here today so that cute face is appreciated. Sorry about the wind.
Well looking on the positive side had you put them on the allotment they may have blown away and damaged your crops or possibly have been lost on someone elses plot.
Too bad about your cloches but they can be repaired pretty easily I hope… Yes who could not smile when looking upon that sweet face!
Beautiful pansy! Who wouldn’t love a face like that?!
I think that the ” never do now what you can do later” school of thought sounds very familiar….she types this with the full knowledge that there are plants and bulbs left to get into the ground! The pansy is lovely and those are the best looking cloches~~so sorry to see they are in pieces. gail
You’ve obviously been suffering with the same windy and wet weather as we have here but it’s amazing how a little flower can bring a note of happiness even in the gloomiest weather…. love pansies too – incredible though to see what else is out in the garden at the moment – roses, still the odd sweet pea and Helebores almost there…. what next! Have a good rest of your week Miranda x
