Blooming Friday: January, week 2 – Snow returns
Welcome to Blooming Friday – though there is very little blooming involved. We are snowed under….. again.
Many of you will think this amount of snow is trivial, but in my area we have not seen this much snow for almost 20 years.
This is the only flower in the garden.
Unless you count this one!
Thanks to Katarina at Roses and Stuff for hosting Blooming Friday.

That rose blooming in the snow is lovely.
Beautiful rose … holding on in that frigid environment! Your photos are gorgeous!
To see something blooming in that kind of cold is amazing! Lovely snow pictures, though. I like your fantasy flower too!
Looks like Sweden;-) Though we have at least one more meter of the white misery. But the pictures are, in their way, beautiful.
Soon there’ll be spring..though the snow in your garden look pretty! Love//Eva
Poor rose! It looks so lonley… In Sweden it is also exceptionally cold and the entire country is covered in snow now.
For the second winter in a row, we have real snow too, here in Belgium.
We had some snow in the days before christmas, and in the previous week it snowed again. In since it has been freezing day and night for more than a week now, the snow doesn’t melt immediately.
I know it is difficult for lots of people (although we don’t have the amounts of snow like in Britain – yet. (fresh snow is announced for this weekend)), but I love it, I really enjoy this winter wonderland.
I’m amazed that there is any bloom at all. What a beautiful snow that is, though! Love the annoyed cat. They do that look well.
I guess most plants are shivering cold.., only they don’t show it.. ~bangchik
Wow – more snow :(
Lovely rose though.
That’s one more flower than me :) What a brave rose.
Ah, but that single rose is delightful! If it’s any solace, we’re snowed under too…
Happy Blooming Friday!
Love the solitary rose in all that snow.
Åååå a lonely rose together with all the snow. Hugs from Lena /isis
It is still amazing how much snow you are getting and how wide the coverage. Hooray for the strength of a rose!

Lovely photos – it looks just like here! Is it really cold too?

Remember last year you suggested putting apple and bread on a spike for the birds? Esther tried it and it was left un-touched. In the end she gave up and took it down. But I did it just now and, the moment I came in again, a robin (a robin!) landed on the bread and began pecking away! The water I put out an hour ago had frozen over already so I’ve put a deeper dish there now. Spect I’ll have to keep changing it all day.
Thanks for the suggestion – both from me and the Robin!

What a lovely cold pink rose :) The only ones I get to see are the ones of ice on my windows..
I like the lonely pink rose in the snow! And your fantasy flower. The annoyed cat is very funny! Have a continued lovely weekend!
How beautiful that rose looks against the snow.
We are not to bad here at the coast – although everything has turned to ice.

When there is one solitary flower in the garden it just makes it that much more special – I think we’re all so spoilt with the wonderful colour we have during the rest of the year – during the winter months it certainly gives you time to really appreciate just one flower!! Enjoy the snow whilst it lasts… looks as though a thaw is on it’s way this week but we’ll see! M
apologies for not visiting for awhile, one or two health problems. Busily catching up with everyone.
My cats, after intial shock of the snow are now bounding around and playing in it, very amusing!
lol, yes this is how it looks in Sweden now. But kind of unusual here too these days. At least you have one flower. :)
Hi!
So lovely to see the litle pink rose(?) in the snow…
Here is snowy too, but the sun is showing up it’s face today.
Have a nice week!/
