Blooming Friday: January, week 3 – The first!
The snow is melting and the temperature has risen above freezing.
In my garden this little flower has taken advantage of the improved weather conditions. On the point of opening….it is the first new flower of 2010.
Yipee!
Thanks to Katarina at Roses and Stuff for hosting Blooming Friday.
She asks if we have all the jewels in our gardens that we would wish for. I will never have them all, but this Cyclamen is one of the brightest jewels in the crown.
Visit her to see more Blooming Friday contributions.

Oh what a jewel it is, EG! I believe these can grow here in my area, they need to be added as soon as possible. Yours is perfection.

How beautiful and delicate and what a contrast… the bud wishing to unfurl while frosty ice lies beneath. Lovely photo!
Lucky you! And thank you for sharing this first spring sign. Lovely! Have a nice week end!
Great to see the cyclamen coming up..and the snow’s still on the ground! Have a great weekend//Eva
What a hopeful and lovely picture. I did put my Cyclamen in the greenhouse and hoped for a mild winter but oh boy how wrong I had…my poor Cyclamen must be sooo dead
The Cyclamen is beautiful!

Cyclamen grow wild here. I have not seen one so far this year, but there are lots of other flowers out now.
Nice pinkish blooms with icy ground …. warms anybody’s heart!! ~bangchik
Not one single flower on this friday.
Or at least: when I left home this morning, there was too much snow left to see if there already where snowdrops or cyclamen, and when I came home at six, it was too dark (and wet, and drizzling) to stroll in the garden. Before tomorrow morning, all the snow will have been gone I guess… and I regret that…
Flowers, already? Nice… We have about half a meter of snow and freezing temperatures outside.
Lovely flower, or at least beginnig of flower! =)
Congratulations on your first bud of this new year! How exciting!
I wish you a lovely weekend
I see there is something missing from my garden. I need to add hardy cyclamen.
Oh, I have a couple of C. hederifolium but should add this variety, since it actually blooms when the leaves are present, unlike mine. Cute and hooray for receding snowiness!
A jewel indeed! And the ice makes that pink look even more striking!
That’s such a lovelt little jewel of a flower! The leaf coloring is an extra bonus~~gail
This is the first time I think I’ve been here. I can’t wait to get outside once the snow has melted to see if my cyclamen have little buds like yours.
Thank you for your lovely comments.
I am soooo happy the snow is all gone here in London!!
Despite the fact that I am born In Sweden – I do NOT like the cold!!
I like the leaves of these as much as the flowers. Isn’t it great seeing the white stuff evaporate
Wowh, now it is stating to wake up – MB
Wonderful! Flowerpower
