Mr Pigeon – you need a new pair of spectacles

I walked into the bedroom to see this imprint of a pigeon on the outside of the window. Eeeek!

Ghostly Mr Pigeon

I rushed outside to see if there was a body lying on the ground but there wasn’t.  I am glad it wasn’t  Mr Limpy who visits the garden most days. He was limping around the garden as usual today and he didn’t seem concussed. Not that a Pigeon with concussion would act much different from one without – they are not the brightest of birds.

This is the first time this has happened here so there must have been an unfortunate reflection that confused the bird. I would have thought the grime on the window would have been warning enough but apparently not.

So the Pigeon lived to fly another day – unless the cats stole the body of course – but I insist on looking on the bright side.

Poor Pigeon, I hope it will live and remember the crash for the rest for its life and has time to narrate the incidence to pigeon babies…. ~bangchik

Poor Mr. Pigeon…that’s quite an imprint he left behind! We have some large (and somewhat dirty) windows here. Thankfully, I’ve only been aware of one bird that stunned itself on the glass. Fortunately, after a few hours inside a dark cardboard box, it seemed fine, and flew off. Hopefully Mr. Pigeon was only seeing double for a short while after impact too.

Awwww, poor Mr Pigeon! You KNOW it was a male, because they just will NOT stop and ask for directions…

I love bangchik’s view of the whole incident. That is quite some mark he left behind, and we can only hope windows will become part of pigeon consciousness in the future. Meanwhile, I guess it’s good I usually don’t wash the windows that often… ;)

Yikes, he left a good imprint, looks like a ghost bird.
Glad there was no stunned pigeon walking around the garden.

Yikes! I’m surprised you didn’t hear the thump. That looks like it was a big one.

Forgot to say that I like the fact you have named onr Mr Limpy. All the pigeons in our garden are called Walter, after the American actor.

The same thing happened to me today!!! But the poor pigeon died on my balcony, broke its neck. I am completely traumatised. I am glad this is a common thing, feel a little better. Mind you my balcony doors won’t clean either! I was super loud, and actually woke me up.
