Blooming Friday – Soft and Hard
Welcome to Blooming Friday where we are looking at soft and hard.
Here is a picture from the Chelsea Flower Show. This was part of “A Modern Rock Garden” where grass and succulents were planted against a background of small black stones.
At the ArtDeJardin Sculpture Garden a metallic sculpture is surrounded by grass and foliage.
Finally – a soft furry black cat on a hard wooden shelf!

Love the allium sculpture. Would love something like that in my own garden, would need a bigger garden to be honest but I do love sculpture inspired by nature. Have a great weekend.
Fantastic! what great examples for the topic. Actually like the Allium sculpture very much – the Halki is rather lovely too
Beautiful pictures! I like the first very much.
Have a nice weekend.

What a great picure of that sleeping cat Halki.
I love the Allium but it wouldn´t look good in this garden. Too strict. Too modern for me, the modern rock garden.
Have a nice weekend.

I like all these things!
Ha! Cute picture of the cat! :) If only they’d made the first display at the flower show round it would have looked like cultures growing in a petrie dish.
Lovely cat. I nearly put a photo of one of ours up but they wouldn’t stay still long enough!
Love the first picture! I get so inspired – I want to create a similar rock garden straight away. The plants look fantastic against the black stones.
The modern rock garden leaves me stone cold but that allium is spectacular and makes me go weak at the knees. Noted that cat ‘s head is resting on pillow of soft curtain :)
